Stave Lake is one of the busiest off-road recreation areas in the Lower Mainland. The Florence Lake FSR, the dam area, and the network running up to the upper lake see steady weekend traffic — 4x4s, side-by-sides, ATVs, dirt bikes, and the occasional ambitious SUV that probably shouldn't be there. When the trail wins, we're who you call. We carry winches, recovery straps, snatch blocks, and the experience to get vehicles out without making the situation worse.
Common situations at Stave Lake
Stuck 4x4s and SUVs — bogged in mud, slid into a ditch on a switchback, or high-centered on a rocky section. ATV and quad recoveries — a side-by-side rolled on a side hill, a quad bogged in a creek crossing, a dirt bike that needs a flatbed home. Slide-offs from soft shoulders — FSRs around Stave Lake have soft edges that give out under weight. Recovery from washed-out sections — sections of road that turned into ruts after a heavy rain and trapped a vehicle on the wrong side.
What happens when you call
Drop a pin in Google Maps and text it through, or name the FSR and any landmark you remember (a gate, a creek crossing, a switchback). The more precise you are, the faster we reach you. We'll bring the right gear based on what you tell us — winching out of soft ground is a different setup than pulling off a rock.
Response & coverage
From our central Mission yard to the main Stave Lake access is 25-35 minutes plus however long it takes to reach you up the FSR. We cover the full Stave Lake network including the dam, Florence Lake area, the trails running up to the upper lake, and the connector tracks heading toward Hayward Lake.
